Government Confirms £5000 Grant for ASHP Installations

£5000 boiler upgrade scheme for heat pump projects

The government has confirmed a £5000 grant will be available for consumers looking to install a heat pump to replace an oil or gas boiler from April 2022.

Plans recently announced, as part of the Heat & Buildings Strategy, include the introduction of a Boiler Upgrade Scheme which will provide a £5000 grant upfront for consumers looking to install an ASHP to replace their gas or oil boiler.

This scheme will replace the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) which will finish in March 2022. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme will offer a one off large lump sum.
