Background

Energie Solutions were originally contacted in October to investigate a failed Kingspan ASHP. On investigation it was deemed the unit was beyond economical repair and the only solution was a replacement.

The Solution

Despite an ASHP already being insitu we carried out a full heatless calculation to determine the correct size of the ASHP for the property.

Despite lockdown and a nationwide shortage of ASHP in the Country we managed to install the replacement unit in a timely fashion. The customer was even eligible for the RHI as they had not claimed in the past!

Fine Tuning Our Solution

As so often is the case with new build developments, ASHP are often undersized and not installed properly. This was certainly the case for this unsuspecting customer. The flow rate was very poor, which was no doubt a contributing factor as to why the original Kingspan unit failed prematurely. We installed additional pumps on the system which resolved the issue.

The installation was completed in 2 days by our Mitsubishi trained and approved engineer and apprentice.
